+1 Loot To Forge Enhance Guide — +6 Costs & Protection

The Enhance system in +1 Loot To Forge explained: Ember Stone costs per level, failure risk above +5, and how to protect your keeper gear.

Enhance is the system the current update is named after: it upgrades your forged gear from +0 toward +6, paying Ember Stones per attempt. It is the strongest per-item power multiplier in the game — and the easiest place to burn a scarce currency for nothing. This guide covers the cost curve, the risk wall above +5, and the discipline that makes enhancing worth it.

How enhancing works

  • Each enhance attempt costs Ember Stones. Reported costs run from around 5 stones at the lowest grades up to roughly 100 per attempt as you approach +6.
  • Success is not guaranteed at high grades. Community trackers report that from +5 onward a failed attempt can drop the level by one, turning an expensive grade into a re-grind.
  • Protection Scrolls exist in the game’s economy as a way to shield an attempt from the level-drop penalty — the community treats them as end-game material for the +5 → +6 push.
  • Enhancement is permanent on the item and carries through rebirth like the gear itself.

One detailed community calculator puts a typical +0 → +6 journey at roughly 8–9 attempts and a few hundred Ember Stones, with the +5 → +6 push alone costing dozens of attempts once level-loss is factored in. These are player-observed numbers, not official rates — the in-game enhancement window is the source of truth.

Where Ember Stones come from

Ember Stones are scarce by design:

  • Codes — the current active code 50000CCU gives 50 Ember Stone (codes page).
  • Frostbound Tower — the tower’s 30-round runs drop Ember Stones alongside runes, making it the reliable farming source (see the tower guide).
  • Update events — milestone codes and events have topped up stones.

The discipline: what to enhance first

  1. Your keeper weapon. The weapon you will carry across rebirths — every stone into it is permanent progression.
  2. Nothing else, early. Enhancing gear you will re-craft next tier (katanas before greatswords) is the classic waste; the tier list marks the keeper points.
  3. Armor at the margins. Once the weapon sits where you want it, armor enhancement pays in late stages where survival gates farming.

Enhance, forge, or rebirth?

When all three compete for your time, the order usually is:

  1. Forge the next tier if a new recipe is affordable — flat power, zero risk.
  2. Enhance the keeper if stones are banked and the next recipe is out of reach.
  3. Rebirth when neither is reachable and farming has stalled (rebirth guide).

FAQ

What is the max enhance level in +1 Loot To Forge?

Community trackers document +0 through +6 as the current enhancement range, with +6 the practical cap given the cost and failure curve above +5.

Do enhance levels drop on failure?

Above +5, yes — reported failures can knock the item down one level, which is why Protection Scrolls matter for the final grades.

Are Ember Stones worth buying?

The tower farms them reliably for free; most players never need to buy stones, just spend tickets.
